High Phosphorus Electroless Nickel Plating

10 – 12% Phosphorus
Micro Plating excels at high phosphorus electroless nickel plating services, delivering impressively uniform and non-magnetic coatings with enhanced corrosion resistance and durable performance. With concentrations ranging from 10 to 12%, our high phosphorus electroless nickel plating services are ideal for demanding applications in the aerospace, defense, marine, and industrial goods sectors. Plating thicknesses and finish properties can be refined to meet a wide variety of industry-standard specifications including AMS 2404, ASTM B733, and MIL-C-26074. Backed by our in-house laboratory and advanced testing equipment, we guarantee that each alloy used in our high phosphorus electroless nickel plating services meets the intended specifications.

Medium Phosphorus Electroless Nickel Plating

6 – 9% Phosphorus
Our medium phosphorus electroless nickel plating services are also REACH and RoHS-compliant and can adhere to the same AMS 2404, AMS-C-26074, and ASTM B733 specifications. These concentrations range from 6-9% depending on the end application and will provide substrates with hardness levels between 54 and 65 Rc once leaving the plating bath. Additional heat-treating services can elevate the hardness levels beyond 65 if needed. With a variable hardness level and a bright, clean, shiny appearance, medium phosphorus electroless nickel plating is an excellent fit for visible components that will experience considerable wear during use. While the corrosion resistance is lower than the higher phosphorus plating solutions, this service can provide up to 96 hours of corrosion resistance under ASTM B-656 specs with only 0.001” of coating.

Benefits of Electroless Nickel Plating

  • Versatile: Electroless nickel plating is a highly versatile plating technique that allows for precision deposit thicknesses, is suitable for a wide range of base materials, and can provide varying types of appearances depending on the end application.
  • Robust Protection: ENP provides comprehensive protection against different corrosive agents like salt spray and hydrogen sulfide while also protecting the base material from wear and tear experienced during use.
  • Cost Savings: Considering there is no need for electrical current, electroless nickel helps save on costs without compromising the final quality. ENP is suitable for high-volume applications and delivers long-term savings.
  • Uniform Coating: Electroless nickel can penetrate and uniformly coat recessed areas including threading, bores, and cavities. The plating reaction can be carefully controlled so that nickel is evenly deposited and prevents build-up in critical areas.
